This easy fruit trifle is topped with a sweet crunch topping that is highly addictive. There are so many various ways to eat this dish, the best probably being to mix your portion together with a drizzle of strawberry sauce on top. You won’t regret it!
3 each of green, red and yellow apples
1 can Gefen Pineapple Tidbits
1 can mandarin, segments
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup walnuts, ground
1/2 cup almonds, ground
5 ounces margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 and 1/2 cups crisp rice cereal
4 tablespoons Gefen Confectioners’ Sugar
1 tablespoon Gefen Vanilla Sugar
1 pound frozen strawberries
Wash and core apples. Cut into very small, thin wedges.
Dip apples into lemon juice to prevent discoloring. Layer apples along side of large trifle bowl, each color separately.
Place pineapple and mandarins in center.
Place a small lucite cup or small dish directly in the center, on top of pineapple and mandarins.
Combine all ingredients.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes, stirring occassionally.
Cover apples with crunch, working around lucite cup.
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Pour into cup.
