A scrumptious sweet stuffing for poultry, beef or veal.
1 large onion, chopped
4 tablespoons oil
1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
3 tart apples, cubed
2 slices challah, soaked and squeezed
2/3 cup raisins
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Sauté onion in oil until golden.
Add mushrooms and sauté for five minutes.
Combine with remaining ingredients.
Yields: Stuffing for 4–6 chicken quarters
