Apple “Yapchik” (Apple-Strawberry Crumble)

This recipe resembles Yapchik, so I love to make it every Shabbos. In addition, the apples and strawberries make it the perfect dessert.

Ingredients

Apple "Yapchik" (Apple-Strawberry Crumble)

  • 5 Cortland apples, peeled and thinly sliced

  • 1 bag frozen strawberries

  • 1/2 tablespoon Tuscanini Lemon Juice

Crumbs

Directions

1.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

2.

Mix the sliced apples with the lemon juice, cinnamon, and sugar. Add the strawberries.

3.

Pour into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Cover tightly and bake for two hours.

4.

Mix together all the crumb ingredients until combined into a crumbly mixture.

5.

Remove apples from the oven. Add the crumbs mixture on top.

6.

Bake uncovered at 350 for an additional hour.

7.

Serve hot.
