Diets I’m super excited about this recipe. Chumus is a great snack choice because it has protein, but chickpeas are also high in carbs. Pairing the chickpeas with avocado slows the digestion of the carbs in the body because the fat from the avocado also has to be digested (slower process). In general, it is always good to pair carbs with protein or healthy fats. Oh, and another reason I’m excited about this recipe: It tastes great!
2 cans Glicks Chickpeas
1 ripe avocado
2 tablespoons Tuscanini Lemon Juice
2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons oil
5 cloves garlic or 5 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon cumin
pepper, to taste
Rinse the chickpeas under water and drain.
Blend all the remaining ingredients except the oil.
Drizzle in the oil slowly while the blender is running. Blend well until everything is smooth. Dig in!
