This is sort of a deconstructed apple crisp – no need to spend all that time peeling and chopping! A delicious blend of fruity flavors (apples, cranberries, raisins) complemented by the sweet, crispy streusel topping.
6 whole apples (see note)
1/2 can Gefen Whole Cranberry Sauce
golden raisins (about 6 teaspoons)
slivered almonds (optional)
1/2 stick margarine
1 cup Glicks Flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
Core the apples three-fourths of the way down the center, leaving the bottoms intact.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Fill with cranberry sauce, golden raisins, and almonds, if using.
Combine ingredients for topping and sprinkle over filling.
Bake uncovered in a preheated 325-degree-Fahrenheit oven for 30 to 45 minutes, checking apples often towards the end. If the peel starts to crack, remove from oven.
Serve warm.
