Diets This easy parve marble cake recipe will give you pretty and elegant results time after time. Keep it basic or top with a sprinkle of confectioners’ sugar or Brynie Greisman’s chocolate frosting. Yields 1 10- by 16-inch baking pan.
12 eggs, separated
3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon Gefen Vanilla Sugar
3 and 1/2 cups flour
4 teaspoons Haddar Baking Powder
1 cup oil
1 cup orange juice or 1/2 cup lemon juice with 1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons Gefen Cocoa
Beat egg whites until stiff, add sugars, beating until peaks form. Add yolks and oil.
Sift together flour and baking powder. Add alternately with orange juice.
Pour three quarters of batter into 10- by 16-inch baking pan.
Combine cocoa with remaining batter and pour over light batter.
Swirl with fork for marble effect.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour.
