1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. onion powder
3 lrg. onions (cut to fine strips)
1 lb. carrots
1 celery knob (cubed or grated)
1 pkg brown lentils (follow package dirrections to pre-boil)
beef stew
Fill a large pot with water and add pre-boiled lentils. Bring to a boil.
Cut raw beef stew into 1.5″ pieces and add.
Add celery knob and carrot, keeping the pot at a gentle boil.
Sautee onions lightly and add.
Add cumin, garlic and onion spices.
Simmer for an hour or longer. The long simmer time will make a softer meat.
note: for deeper flavor try increasing the cumin and/or garlic.
This freezes very well!
