When you’re just not in the mood of rolling date balls, this is a great dessert or treat. The antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins found in dates help support brain, digestive, and heart health and protect against disease. What a great alternative for chocolate lovers!
Yield: approximately 12 servings
12 Medjool dates, halved, pitted, and inspected for insects
hazelnut butter or Gefen Almond Butter
1 cup Glicks Chocolate Chips
1–2 teaspoons Heaven & Earth Coconut or avocado oil
freeze-dried berries
Place the dates, flesh up, on a piece of Gefen Parchment Paper. Put another piece of parchment paper on top.
Using a rolling pin, roll out the dates until they’re thin and fused together.
Drizzle with nut butter of choice.
Melt chocolate chips with oil. Drizzle chocolate over the nut butter and spread evenly over the dates.
Crush the freeze-dried berries and sprinkle them over the chocolate.
Freeze until chocolate is completely hardened. Slice or break apart to serve and enjoy.
