Ingredients

Brownie in a Bag

  • 2 cups Glicks Flour

  • 3/4 cup Gefen Cocoa

  • 1 and 3/4 cups sugar

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon coffee diluted in 1 cup water

  • an additional 1 cup of water

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 1 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla Extract (do not skip this; it gives an amazing taste!)

Directions

1.

Mix flour, cocoa, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt directly in the baking pan with a fork. For cupcakes, you can shake these ingredients together in a two-gallon ziptop bag.

2.

Add coffee, eggs, oil, and vanilla (in your bag or pan) and mix.

3.

For cupcakes, snip the corner of the bag and divvy into muffin holders.

4.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.

Tips:

ADD SOME KICK! Mix the options below into your tried-and-true cupcake batters for a flavor boost. CHOCOLATE CHIPS – recommended for brownies; NOUGAT CHIPS – recommended for brownies; CRAISINS – recommended for mocha; OATS – recommended for mocha. SWITCH IT UP! My super talented friend Cyporee Knopfler once inspired this piece of genius: Spice up old favorite cake recipes by swapping an interesting flavor when a recipe calls for vanilla extract. This simple change will make a huge difference! Here are some ideas: Rum extract; Strawberry extract; Coconut extract; Banana liqueur; Pistachio extract; Caramel extract or liqueur; Raspberry extract or liqueur; Orange, lemon, and/ or grapefruit zest for a citrus cake; Or throw in a packet of flavored Jello into any vanilla cake.

Bruchy said that the recipe is correct and it always comes out great for her! You can always start with a cup of water and slowly add more if you’re scared of the batter being to runny.

Yes, check them after 15 minutes or so. When you insert a knife in the center, it should come out clean with no batter.
