Cabbage Filling (for Blintzes)

Ingredients

Cabbage Filling

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 1 head of cabbage, shredded

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 6 tablespoons sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper, optional

Blintzes

  • blintz leaves, homemade or store-bought

Directions

Prepare the Cabbage Filling

Sauté cabbage and seasonings in oil over low heat for approximately 45 minutes to one hour, stirring occasionally.

Variation:

6 medium kohlrabi, may be substituted for cabbage.
