Diets Serve these dairy rugelach at a kiddush, simcha, or even Shavuot.
1/2 pound butter
1/2 pound cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1 and 1/4 cups chopped walnuts
3/4 cup raisins
3 tablespoons butter, for brushing pastry
Cream butter and cream cheese until smooth.
Add salt and flour and mix until smooth.
Divide dough into three equal parts. Wrap individually in plastic wrap or wax paper. Refrigerate overnight.
Mix all ingredients for filling.
Roll out each part of dough into a 12-inch circle. Brush each circle with one tablespoon melted butter.
Sprinkle each circle with one third of filling mixture. With rolling pin, roll over filling to slightly press into dough.
Cut each circle into 12 wedges. Roll up, wide end first.
Place onto cookie sheet. Brush with egg and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
