Submitted by Dina Weinreb Nothing cheers up my family more then a bowl of fresh crispy poppers! This recipe involves a little bit of prep but the results are simply amazing! I’ve made these at parties and there is never anything leftover! This recipe is also great to make with kids if you are looking for something fun to do.My kids love to get their hands full of flour. Good luck on the clean-up 😉
1 package of chicken cutlets or wing drumettes
6 eggs
3 cups flour
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon oregano (optional)
oil
1 cup Frank’s Hot Sauce
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup honey
Cut chicken into small 1/2-inch cubes.
Beat six eggs in a large bowl.
Mix flour and spices in a separate large bowl.
Place the chicken cubes in the flour mixture and coat the chicken.
Place the coated chicken in the eggs.
Remove chicken from the eggs and gently shake the excess egg off the chicken.
Place once again in the flour and coat well.
Preheat a pan with about two inches of oil until it reaches temperature. You can test it with a cooking thermometer 375 degrees Fahrenheit or you can place a slice of chicken in the oil and see if it sizzles.
Place a few pieces at a time in the pan for about three to five minutes till golden brown. Remove and place on some paper towel.
Place all the ingredients in a sauce pan. Heat over a medium flame stirring until all ingredients are blended and warm.
Toss the chicken or wings in the sauce.
