A very easy and crowd-pleasing recipe for basic cheesy baked ziti. Kids love it, and this is always on my dinner rotation.
Directions
1. Boil pasta for 10 minutes and drain.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. In a 9 x 13-inch pan, mix tomato sauce with cottage cheese and sour cream until all combined. Add drained pasta and combine.
4. Sprinkle half a cup of grated cheese on top of pasta mixture (for cheesier pasta, combine one-fourth cup grated cheese into noodles and continue with an extra half cup grated cheese on top).
Very easy to make. I found it great as a quick recipe when there’s no milk at hand (there are a lot of other zitti recipes that use milk and yogurt seems like a great alternative).
I used pizza sauce and cooked my zitti uncovered. Also, I used a vanilla yogurt. There was a tiny tinge of vanilla to the zitti so I think I’ll go with a plain yogurt next time.
It was a bit messier than other zitti recipes, and the noodles just fell apart when pieces were sliced.
Would I make this again? Totally!
