Diets This simple poultry or meat side dish couldn’t be easier to stir up.
1 (11 ounce) package farfel
3 tablespoons oil
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
dash of pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic or onion powder
1 and 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 quart water
In a three-quart saucepan, brown farfel in oil for three to five minutes, stirring continuously.
Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
Cook for 20 minutes over low heat or until water is absorbed.
Preheat oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place farfel into well greased large roasted pan. Toast farfel in oven for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
Add remaining ingredients and cover pan tightly. Bake for one hour at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Freeze? Can you freeze farfel?
yes, I don’t see why not.
Been making it a number of years. Originally got this recipe from one of their printed cookbooks.
Delish. Took longer than 20 minutes to absorb all water. Decrease salt next time.
