Diets This French toast-muffin mashup is a true dream come to life. Making French toast the traditional way can be pretty time-consuming and is difficult to enjoy as a quick grab-and-go treat. With this new quick and easy shortcut, French toast can be enjoyed in a flash. But don’t worry, the flavors still hit all those classic Sunday morning French toast notes. Don’t take my word for it — go ahead and try it for yourself!
1 loaf bread or challah, cubed
2 and 1/2 cups milk
6 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon Gefen Cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup Haddar Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Glicks Flour
1/8 teaspoon Gefen Cinnamon
pinch of salt
Gefen Maple Syrup, to serve
Place about a cup of torn bread into each muffin cup. Whisk milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until combined. Slowly and carefully pour over the cubed bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for two hours or up to overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
While oven is preheating, make streusel topping. Mix butter, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt, then sprinkle over muffins. Bake for 25 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with maple syrup.
