Fried Cheesecake Bites

Ingredients

Cheese Cake

  • 1 8 ounce whipped cream cheese

  • 3/4 cup cottage cheese

  • 2 eggs

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon Gefen Vanilla Sugar

Tempura Batter

  • 4 and 1/4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 3 cups oil, such as Gefen Canola Oil, (for frying)

Serving Suggestions

  • ice cream

  • melted chocolate

  • whipped cream

  • strawberry sauce (storebought)

Directions

Prepare the Cheesecake

1.

In a large bowl, blend all the cheesecake ingredients together until creamy and smooth.

2.

Pour the mixture into the pie crust and bake on 350 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour.

3.

Once cooled, scoop out the cheesecake (including the crust) and form into balls.

4.

Place the balls onto a lined baking sheet and freeze for at least one hour.

Fry

1.

In a medium bowl, combine all the tempura batter ingredients and blend with a hand mixer until very smooth.

2.

Heat oil in a pot for frying.

3.

Remove the frozen cheesecake balls from the freezer.

4.

Dip each ball in the tempura batter and carefully place it into the hot oil.

5.

Fry for two to three minutes on each side until golden brown.

Tips:

This recipe works well with any kind of cheesecake, including store-bought varieties. Just follow the instructions to make bite-sized treats.
