Diets Watch Chef Lea make this fresh fall dessert, here!
5 cups water
1 lemon
4 apples
1 cup Gefen Honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
pinch of ground clove
1 egg white or 3 tablespoons Haddar Egg Whites
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon water
1 pound pecans
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a bowl whisk together the egg white, vanilla, and water to soft peaks. Add the pecans and mix until they are fully coated with the egg white mixture. Pour in the sugar and cinnamon and mix until the nuts are fully coated.
Place on a parchment-covered sheet pan and bake in the preheated oven for about one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, cool and serve.
Warm the honey on the stove top. Make sure the honey does not boil.
Whisk in the spices and let cool. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.
Juice the lemon into the water.
Cut the core from the apple and cut into rings.
Place the cut apples immediately in the acidified water, this will prevent the apples from browning.
Grill or pan sear the apples until soft around the edges yet still firm to the touch. Serve warm with your favorite topping.
