Sweet and Smoky Barbecue Sauce

Prepare the Burgers

Yield: 6 burgers

  1. In a medium bowl, combine chicken, parsley, garlic powder, cilantro, basil, matzah meal, egg, salt and pepper. Use a fork or rubber spatula to combine the ingredients, as ground chicken is very moist and can be more difficult to work with.

  2. Shape mixture into patties and place on a baking sheet. Broil or grill for seven to 10 minutes per side.

Prepare the Sauce

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until onion is soft, about five to seven minutes.

  2. Add molasses, chili powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until sauce thickens, about 15 minutes.

  3. Drizzle sauce over chicken burgers.
