I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love pizza, and this version will have everyone wowed! Perfect for a delicious dinner or a Shabbos or Yom Tov appetizer or side.
1 tablespoon oil, such as Gefen Canola Oil
1 large onion, diced
2 pounds ground meat
2 teaspoons Gefen Salt
1 teaspoon Pereg Black Pepper
3/4 cup Gefen Barbecue Sauce
2 prebaked pizza crusts or flatbreads, or 1 batch pizza dough rolled thin, poked and prebaked on 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 15 minutes
1/2 cup Gefen Duck Sauce, for brushing
store-bought garlic mayo and/or spicy mayo, for drizzling
In a large frying pan, sauté onion in oil over medium flame for five minutes, until translucent. Add ground meat and sauté another 15 minutes until browned, breaking up chunks while stirring.
Add salt and pepper and barbecue sauce. Cover and simmer on low for 20 to 30 minutes, until soft and sticky.
To assemble pizza, preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Brush pizza crusts with duck sauce. Top with an even layer of meat. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until edges of dough are crispy.
Slice and drizzle with desired mayo before serving.
