Just the smell of this supper brings back nostalgic memories from my school days! Was it the love that went into making it that made it taste so good? The trick is to really bake this for three hours—this is not the “Omg, I forgot to put up supper so I’ll turn the oven up to 400 and hope it’ll be ready in two hours!” type of supper.
1 and 1/2 cups white rice (uncooked)
3 cups water
1 (20-ounce) can Gefen Pineapple Tidbits, with the juice
16 ounces Tuscanini Tomato Sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 chicken legs
black pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place rice, water, pineapple, tomato sauce, and brown sugar in a 9×13-inch pan and mix. Add the chicken and sprinkle with black pepper.
Cover tightly and bake for three hours. Uncover and bake 10 minutes more.
