Diets A healthier oat square that is perfect anytime. Both the chewier version and the crispier version are equally delicious. The best part is no mixer needed!
Yields 36-48 squares, depending on pan size
2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 and 1/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour (80%)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
scant 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup melted Heaven & Earth Coconut Oil
1/4 cup natural maple syrup, such as Gefen
1/4 cup Gefen Honey
1 egg
1 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla Extract
1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts
1/3 cup caramel chips
Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Line a 9×9-inch (23×23-centimeter) pan with Gefen Parchment Paper.
Combine oats, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
In another bowl, whisk together coconut oil, maple syrup, honey, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until a dough forms. Fold in the hazelnuts and caramel chips. Transfer dough to the pan and press down firmly and evenly. Bake for 20–22 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
