Diets This drink is a winner! It’s refreshing and delicious, the perfect addition to your summer barbecue. I like to premake my iced tea and refrigerate it so it gets a deeper flavor, though it can also be enjoyed immediately after prepping. Yield: 1 large pitcher Note: Make sure that you get either the box of Tazo Iced Passion Tea or Tazo Tea Bags rather than any of the other versions on the market that are filled with sugar. I found mine locally at the Target in Brick.
1 Tazo Iced Passion tea bag or 5 regular tea bags
32 ounces boiling water
1/2 cup Gefen Pure Maple Syrup
juice of 3 lemons (or about 9 tablespoons Gefen Lemon Juice)
cold water
ice
Place tea bag(s) in a large pitcher (it should hold at least 80 ounces). Pour in boiling water and allow tea to steep for five minutes.
Add maple syrup and lemon juice and stir.
Fill the remainder of the pitcher with cold water and ice.
Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for later.
