A healthier apple crisp with a light oat topping. Even served with ice cream, this dessert weighs in at just about 250 calories per serving.
4 medium tart apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/3 cup Shibolim White Whole Wheat Flour or other whole-wheat pastry flour, divided
1 tablespoon Gefen Honey
2 teaspoons lemon juice
3/4 teaspoon Gefen Ground Cinnamon, divided
2/3 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup agave syrup
1 tablespoon coconut spread
organic vanilla coconut ice cream or almond milk ice cream (optional)
In a large bowl, combine the apples, one tablespoon flour, honey, lemon juice, and one-fourth teaspoon cinnamon. Pour into a greased nine-inch deep-dish pie plate.
In a small bowl, combine the oats, agave, remaining flour, and cinnamon. Cut in coconut spread until crumbly; sprinkle over apple mixture.
Cover with waxed paper. Microwave on high for five to seven minutes or until apples are tender. Serve with ice cream, if desired.

Hi- I would put it in the oven at 350F for 5-7 minutes or until the apples are tender.
coconut cream I don’t have coconut cream, what can substitute it?
It says non dairy ice cream. I use coconut cream. It’s worth buying.
I just want to ask you where did you get the items from such as whole wheat pastry flour or if I am gluten free where can I get something similar to that pastry flour also where can I get
gluten free quick oats I shopped around and they don’t seem to have it
please let me know my email is sorkinlinda9@Aryeh.com
Thanks and have a Shana Tova
Whole Wheat Pastry flour can be found in most local grocery stores and can also be ordered from online. I don’t think they sell gluten-free pastry flour though. Most quick oats are gluten-free but you should also be able to find them in a local grocery store or online.
What can I use instead of agave syrup and coconut spread?
Thanks
Instead of agave you can use maple syrup or honey and you can use oil instead of coconut spread.
