Ingredients

Hungarian Brownie

  • 1/2 C white sugar

  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine

  • 1 t vanilla

  • 2 C flour

  • 1 t baking powder

  • 1/4 t baking soda

  • 3 eggs, separated

  • pinch of salt

  • 1/2 C brown sugar

Toppings

  • 1 C chocolate chips

  • 1 C shredded coconut

  • 3/4 C chopped walnuts

  • 1 C brownulated brown sugar

Directions

Prepare the Hungarian Brownie

1.

Cream egg yolks with sugars and margarine.

2.

Add vanilla, then all dry ingredients.

3.

Put dough in a 9×13 pan. Put chocolate chips, coconut, and walnuts.

4.

Beat the reserved whites with 1 C brownulated brown sugar until stiff. Spread over the cake.

5.

Bake at 325 for 40 minutes.

6.

Let cool completely cut into squares.
