Personalizing baked goods brings your contribution to a simchah to a whole new level. Make these for an engagement party using the chassan and kallah’s first initials, decorate them with blue or pink sprinkles for a new baby, or add a number 3 for an upsherin. You can also skip the letters and cut out circles or other decorative shapes instead.
1 cup margarine (2 sticks)
3 cups Mishpacha Flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
14 ounces hazelnut cream, such as Gefen Hazelnut Praline Cream
9 ounces chocolate chips
4 ounces Gefen Hazelnut Brittle
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with Gefen Parchment Paper.
In a bowl, mix together margarine, flour, sugar, vanilla, and egg until smooth.
Refrigerate half the dough. Roll out the other half to 1/4-inch thickness.
Using cookie cutters, cut out letters. Repeat with the rest of the dough.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Smear hazelnut cream on half the cookies and place another cookie on top of each one. Freeze for 30 minutes.
Melt chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth.
Dip the tops of the cookies diagonally into the chocolate. Sprinkle on hazelnut brittle before the chocolate dries.
Refrigerate until set, or freeze until your simchah.
