If you’ve heard about Impossible or Beyond burgers but haven’t tried them yet, here’s a fun gateway — it’s not quite a cheese “burger,” just a yummy way to add protein to your nachos!
1 large bag chips, such as Heaven & Earth Tortilla Chips
1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
1 large shallot, thinly sliced
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 avocado, diced
fresh parsley (optional), for garnish
1 pound (450 grams) fake meat
2 tablespoons oil, such as Tonnelli Avocado Oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Gefen Garlic Powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon Gefen Onion Powder
1 teaspoon oregano
1 tablespoon Tuscanini Tomato Paste
1–2 tablespoons water, as needed
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with Gefen Parchment; set aside.
Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add pareve meat and sear for two minutes, then flip and sear for another two minutes.
Add spices and tomato paste; stir to break up meat and incorporate spices. If needed, add one to two tablespoons water to incorporate everything. Set aside to cool.
Place half the chips across the entire baking sheet. Top with half the fake meat crumbles, half the cherry tomatoes, and half the shallot slices, followed by half of the cheese. Create a second layer using the remainder of each item.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and gooey. Remove from oven and sprinkle diced avocado over the top. If desired, add fresh parsley for garnish.
