I got this recipe from a friend when we were discussing ideas for mishloach manos. She serves this meaty chummus dish every Shabbos lunch as one of her dips. She layers chummus, techina, and then this meat mixture on a small plate. Placed in a glass jar (such as the Weck jar shown), this makes a neat and practical mishloach manos, to be enjoyed at the Purim seudah. Tie it together with a bundle of mini pitas or crackers with twine. See how to prepare this recipe.
1 tablespoon oil
1 large onion, diced
1 plum tomato, chopped
1 pound (454 grams) ground meat
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
hummus, for serving
prepared Haddar Tahini, for serving
Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat and sauté onion until golden. Add tomato and sauté until soft. Add ground meat and spices and simmer until meat is cooked.
Layer chummus and techina on a small plate, followed by the meat mixture. To send as shalach manos, layer all components in a glass jar.

??????????? The recipe is called Meat Chummus but there is no chummus in the recipe. after the meat is sautéed do I just mix it with the tahini? how do I prepare the tahini?
Hi, the recipe calls for hummus and tahini, for serving. You should prepare the meat according to instructions, then serve over the hummus and drizzle with tahini. We’ll update the text to reflect that! Thanks.
