Ingredients

Sauce

  • 1 large onion

  • 1 garlic cube

  • 28 ounce can whole or crushed tomatoes

  • 4 cups water

  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon rind (optional)

  • 2 teaspoons chopped parsley

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 crushed bay leaf (or keep whole and remove before serving)

  • 1/2 oregano

  • 3 small cans tomato paste

Meatball Mixture

  • 1 and 1/2 ground beef

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano

  • 2 teaspoons chopped parsley

  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs

Directions

Prepare the Meatballs and Spaghetti

1.

Sauté onions and garlic. Add rest of the ingredients. Cook 45 minutes.

2.

Form meatballs and add to sauce and cook additional 40 minutes. Place over cooked spaghetti.
