These white chocolate cheese Danishes have a very elegant look, yet they are so easy to make.
2 8-ounce (225 grams) containers cream cheese (not whipped)
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar plus more for sprinkling
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla Extract
1 bar Elite White Chocolate (melted on a double broiler)
1 package Gefen Mini Puff Pastry Squares or other mini flaky pastry squares, softened
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
Mix cream cheese on low speed.
Add sugars, egg, and vanilla extract. Drizzle in melted white chocolate and beat until completely incorporated.
Place one tablespoon cheese filling in the center of each dough square. Lift all four corners and pinch closed in the center.
Grease muffin tins and place mini danishes into tins, and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool. Sprinkle with additional confectioners’ sugar.

White Chocolate? When do you add the white Chocolate? It’s not in the instructions 🙁
Look at step #3 you add in there. 🙂
Hey,
Any tips on what to use instead of non-whipped cream cheese in Israel? We can make whipped cream cheese out of ‘shamenet’, but I think that comes out like whipped cream cheese…
It’s very difficult from what I hear, I did hear that some places are carrying American blocks of cream cheese. However, there doesn’t seem to be anything that’s an exact substitute. If you’re very adventurous you can try making it, it’s not very difficult 🙂
There is cream cheese similar to American cream cheese. It is called Napolian, made by Tnuva. It is 25%. There are other products like this. There is farmers cheese by Tara, that is 3% but it makes a great cheese cake (New York style). Yesterday, I saw Philadelphia cream cheese in the store Shuk Ha’ir in the Ramot Mall. If you live in Yerushalayim, you should also go to Sha’ari Revacha, they carry many things that might help. The Napolian is great though.
