Diets Here’s a creamy pasta that’s perfect for supper or Shavuos. Created by my daughter, this is an easy, kid-friendly recipe that everyone ends up loving.
1/4 cup oil
1 large onion, diced
1 box mushrooms, halved and sliced
2 teaspoons salt
black pepper, to taste
2 cups/500 milliliters heavy cream or half and half (15%) cream
1 (500-gram) bag penne pasta, boiled and drained
In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the diced onions, sliced mushrooms, and salt and sauté until the mushrooms are soft and have cooked down.
Pour in the cream or half and half and black pepper. Let it simmer gently until the sauce starts to thicken.
Add the cooked hot pasta to the pot or pour the sauce over the pasta and mix well until everything is evenly coated.
Taste and adjust with more salt and pepper if needed.
