These classic sprinkle cookies are a delicious change from standard chocolate chip cookies. The orange juice gives them extra flavor and the colorful sprinkles make them exciting for kids to enjoy! They can be made gluten free, or with regular wheat or spelt flour.
The dough is very easy to work with and can also be used for sugar cookies.
Yields: 30 small cookies
1/2 cup oil, such as Gefen Canola Oil
1 egg
3/4 cup sugar
1 and 1/2 teaspoons Gefen Vanilla Sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 scant cups gluten free flour (or wheat based flour)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Prepare a mixing bowl with a dough hook to mix the dough.
Mix the oil, egg, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, baking powder, and orange juice in the mixing bowl, until it’s well mixed.
Add the two cups of flour one at a time, and mix it well.
Line the cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Pour sprinkles into a plastic bowl.
Form small one-inch balls of dough.
Roll each ball of dough into the sprinkles. Place the cookies on the lined cookie sheets. Flatten the cookies down a bit into a cookie shape.
Bake on 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12-13 minutes. (Wheat cookies may need less time). Enjoy! 🙂
