Even if you’re not typically an orange-and-chocolate combo person, try this. I tasted a similar mousse at my friend Cipi’s house, and although I was skeptical about the orange-flavored mousse (why mess with a perfect chocolate mousse???), I was in love with it after the first bite. There is something very refreshing about this dessert.
6 ounces (170 grams) good-quality chocolate, broken into chunks
2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
1 and 1/2 teaspoons Gefen Vanilla
2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
1/2 cup Kineret Pareve Whipped Topping
1 teaspoon orange zest
Melt chocolate over double boiler and stir until smooth. Allow to cool for 10 minutes and whisk in the egg. Add the vanilla and sugar. Cool the mixture, stirring occasionally.
Beat the whipped topping in a bowl until peaks form. Fold in chocolate mixture and add orange zest. Divide into dessert cups and refrigerate.
