Fried rice and I go way back—it has always been a family favorite and it’s a great use for leftover rice!
1 tablespoon oil
6 ounces pastrami, diced
1/2 cup frozen peas
1 carrot, diced
1 medium onion, diced
1 egg
2 cups basmati rice, cooked according to package instructions
2 tablespoons Glicks Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon Gefen Sesame Oil
1 cube Gefen Frozen Garlic
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high flame. Add pastrami and sauté for about four minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside in a large bowl.
In the same skillet, sauté carrot, onion, and peas for about 10 minutes over a medium-low flame; add to bowl with pastrami and mix.
In the same skillet, scramble one egg and break into small pieces. Add to meat and vegetables. Add cooked rice to the skillet. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and salt and pepper and sauté for five minutes over a medium-high flame. Reduce flame to medium-low, add meat and veggie mixture and sauté all together for an additional five minutes.
