These literally take five minutes to put together and the results are amazing! For those with allergies, you can use any allergy-friendly substitute. The flour and sugar can be subbed as well, if desired.
Yield: 1 8×8-inch pan
1/3 cup sweetened applesauce
1 and 1/2 cups Gefen Crunchy Peanut Butter
1 and 1/2 teaspoons Gefen Pure Vanilla Extract
2 teaspoons baking soda
pinch of salt
1/2 cup Glicks Flour
2/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon soy milk (or any nondairy milk substitute)
1/4 cup chocolate chips, for topping (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease an eight-inch square baking pan.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl until combined.
Spread into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 12 minutes. It will look a bit underdone but will firm up once cooled.
Cut into bars. Optional: Melt chocolate chips and drizzle on top once bars are cooled.
