Delicious, all in one bowl, and very, very quick. In fact, you probably have all the ingredients in your pantry already. That makes it the perfect recipe to whip up when old friends suddenly call and say, “We’re in the neighborhood. May we drop in?” Yields 40 bars
2 sticks margarine
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla Extract
2 cups flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 (6-ounce) package Glicks Chocolate Chips
additional dark and white chocolate chips, to garnish, if desired
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Beat margarine with sugar and vanilla extract. Add flour and salt, mixing well. Stir in chocolate chips.
Press into ungreased 10- by 15-inch baking pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for five minutes.
If desired, melt dark and white chocolate chips separately. Drizzle bars with melted chocolate.
Cut into bars while still warm.
