Ingredients

Special Equipment

Peanut Chew Marble Pops

  • 2 and 1/4 pounds white baking chocolate/coating

  • oil-based food coloring (we like the brand Colour Mill, make sure it has a hechsher)

Directions

For the Peanut Chew Pops

1.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2.

Put the sugar, corn syrup, and peanut butter into a nine- by 13-inch pan.

3.

Bake for five to seven minutes. Remove from the oven, mix the ingredients with a metal spoon, then return it to the oven for another two minutes.

4.

Take it out, mix, add in Rice Krispies and mix.

5.

Press the peanut chew mixture into the pop molds and put them in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes or until they feel frozen.

Notes:

These pops freeze very well at this stage. You can freeze them in advance and decorate whenever needed.

To Decorate

1.

In separate bowls, melt two pounds of white chocolate and 1/4 pound of white chocolate.

2.

Add a few drops of food coloring to some of the chocolate. Mix to incorporate the color completely.

3.

Drizzle the colored chocolate on top of the white chocolate and dip in the pop on an angle.

4.

Decorate as desired! We like to use gold spray paint and synthetic brushes to decorate.

Can I use corn flakes instead of rice krispies?

I can see the flavors working together, but it would change the taste and it won’t be as smooth when making the pops. The amount of cornflakes needed might be different than the Rice Krispies. I would think to start out with less than the recipe says and add more slowly until there are no “wet pockets”.

Yes, just keep in mind that light corn syrup has a lighter and sweeter flavor. Dark corn syrup adds a richer flavor and darker color.

We asked Bracha & Rachelli from Yummy Blessings and this is what they said:
“We freeze them before decorating. Most of the time, we don’t need a whole batch, so we just take out and decorate as many as we need and keep the rest frozen until the next time. Chocolate sweats when it’s frozen/defrosted, they may get sticky if they’re frozen decorated.
Also, if they’re fully coated, they’ll stay super soft for a long time- like two months. Ones that are half dipped, if they’re sealed in an air-tight container are good for at least a month- the texture changes a little, but they’re still really good.”
