Submitted by peninaeider Our family’s favorite dessert on a cold winter night is a fresh baked apple with pecan filling with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
3/4 cup boiling water
butter or margarine
4 large apples
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Peel and core apples, leaving about a half inch on the bottom intact.
Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon. Leave a little bit on the side for sprinkling.
Add your pecans to the cinnamon brown sugar mixture and stuff your apples.
Place in a baking dish.
Place a small piece of butter or margarine on top of the stuffing.
Pour the boiling water to the bottom of the baking dish and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-45 minutes until tender.
