Diets Chock-full of veggies and meat, you will wake up on Shabbos morning to the amazing aroma of this cholent. The meat is soft, and the combination of veggies, meat and spices delivers the perfect Cholent for Passover.
1 large onion, diced
3 tablespoons chicken fat or oil
4 large potatoes, cubed
1 pound beef or 3/4 chicken, cut into serving size pieces
1 teaspoon salt
1 quart water
Sauté onion in oil over medium heat until golden.
Add potatoes, meat and salt and cook for 35 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add water, bring to a boil and cook for another 30 minutes. Cholent is now ready to be placed on Shabbos blech.
