Diets An easy and unique appetizer. Puff pastry dough is looped around pineapple rings, then baked until the pastry turns golden.
3 and 1/2 cans Gefen Pineapple Slices
1 package Gefen Puff Pastry
Drain pineapple slices and dab dry with a paper towel.
Roll out pie dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut 16 strips 20 inches ling and one inch wide.
Starting from center of pineapple ring, wrap dough around pineapple ring, weaving in and out of ring. Leave 1/4 inch space between strips. Place end of dough on the underside. Repeat with each ring separately.
Brush with egg.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden color. Dough will puff up and almost cover pineapple.
Optional: Bake without brushing for 10 to 12 minutes. Sprinkle with confection sugar. Decorate with cherry or strawberry in the center and add a green leaf.
