Diets These easy old-fashioned poppy seed cookies come together quickly (no mixer required) and are flavored with orange zest. These are great cookies to enjoy with milk (or your afternoon tea). Great for any time of year, and traditional in Ashkenazi households at Chanukah time.
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup oil
juice and rind of 1 orange
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons Gefen Baking Powder
pinch of salt
1/4 cup poppy seeds
Beat eggs, add sugar, oil, orange rind and juice.
Stir in dry ingredients.
Roll out dough to quarter-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10–15 minutes until golden brown.
