In the Purim spirit, everyone can enjoy this soft and delicious wine-tenderized pulled beef.
4 pound second-cut brisket
8 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup Gefen Honey
1/4 cup oil
2 cups semisweet red wine, such as Jeunesse Cabernet Sauvignon
2 bay leaves
about 30 flatbreads, mini taco shells, or tortilla chip cups
sliced avocado or guacamole
Israeli salad
creamy Caesar dressing or Gefen Garlic Mayo
prepared onion rings
pickles, such as Gefen
Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place meat in a doubled 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a small bowl, mix garlic, salt, pepper, honey, and oil.
Rub mixture all over meat.
Pour wine over meat.
Add bay leaves to pan.
Cover tightly; bake for five hours.
Remove from oven, keeping covered until no longer steaming. Remove and discard bay leaves.
Shred meat with two forks.
Place in a bowl on a large platter.
Arrange toppings of your choice on platter.
If serving as an appetizer, keep it neat and elegant with a three-section dish for the pulled beef, tacos or chips, and one other component of your choice.
