Quince are in season, and add a delicious dimension to applesauce. This five-minute dish is the perfect accompaniment to fried latkes, or the finale to a heavy meal.
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Peel and quarter all the fruit.
2. Place in a Pyrex dish, sprinkle with vanilla sugar and cover tightly with foil. Bake for one hour.
3. Mash with the back of a fork, or for finer consistency blend with immersion blender.
Notes: Refrigerate up to one week, tightly covered.
Easy (but not five-minute easy, let’s be real) and delicious! The only change I had to make was to bake for about double the amount of time.
