Recipe by The Abandoned Husband.
1 24-ounce can fruit cocktail
1 15-ounce can sour cherries
1 package any flavor gelatin dessert powder, such as Gefen Jell Dessert
1/2 package frozen blueberries
2 tablespoons Gefen Lemon Juice
5 cups water
Drain fruit cocktail and cherries, reserving liquid.
Combine liquid, water, and lemon juice in pot; bring to a boil.
Add gelatin dessert powder and bring to a boil again.
Taste to assess if sufficiently sweet; add sugar or sweetener to taste.
Add fruit and allow mixture to simmer for 10 minutes.
Cool. (Cool!)
Refrigerate and serve cold (the colder the better)—with sour cream (or, if you really must, yogurt) or plain.
