In my house, you can always find a variety of cotton tea bags filled with herbs. They look pretty on a shelf, and they’re easy to grab when you’re looking for a relaxing beverage. I prefer buying empty tea bags and loose herbs in bulk rather than the traditional tea bags you find in stores. These items are easy to find on Amazon or at your local herb shop. Purchasing them separately gives you the flexibility to fill your own tea bags with the combinations you enjoy, and it’s more economical too. Best of all, the herbs are fresher and way more flavorful.
4 heaping tablespoons rosehips
3 tablespoons hibiscus
4 cups boiling water
juice of 1 lemon or 3 tablespoons Gefen Lemon Juice
4 tablespoons Heaven & Earth Raw Honey or pure maple syrup
4 cups cool water
ice, for serving (optional)
Fill empty tea bags with rosehips and hibiscus and place in a 32-ounce mug or glass jar. Add boiling water and allow herbs to steep at least one hour.
Gently squeeze tea bags and then discard them.
Add lemon juice and honey and stir to combine.
Pour into a pitcher and add cool water. Cover and refrigerate to chill completely. If you like, serve with ice.
