Salted caramel chocolate bars are a sweet and somewhat salty treat and addictively delicious. Yield: 20-25 bars.
3 sticks margarine
3/4 cup confectioner’s sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp vanilla extract
2 tsp sea salt, divided
3 cups flour
14 oz caramel candies
1/3 cup whip
1 and 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Cream margarine with sugars, then add in vanilla, 1 teaspoon sea salt, and flour and mix until smooth. Remove 1 and 1/2 cups of dough.
Place remaining dough into 9×13 pan. Bake on 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.
Melt caramel candies with the whip on a low flame. Pour over crust.
Sprinkle caramel with additional 1 teaspoon sea salt. Pour chocolate chips over caramel. Crumble remaining dough over the chocolate and continue baking for another 35-40 minutes.
