One of my favorite kitchen challenges is replicating foods that you’d normally pick up at a takeout place, and these sesame chicken bites are definitely worth staying home for. If you like things hot and spicy, just add some crushed red pepper.

Ingredients

Chicken Cutlets

  • oil

Sesame Sauce

  • 1/3 cup sesame seeds

Directions

Prepare the Sesame Chicken

1.

Put all the nuggets in a mixing bowl with the egg and stir vigorously until coated.

2.

Remove the nuggets to the bowl of bread crumbs, leaving the excess egg behind, and stir gently until the chicken pieces are coated with crumbs.

3.

Heat 3–4 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet and fry chicken nuggets until light golden, about 3–4 minutes per side, adding more oil if necessary.

4.

Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by mixing the duck sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, and sesame seeds.

5.

Remove chicken to a foil pan or oven-to-table dish and pour sauce over it. Stir to coat and heat in oven until piping hot, about 20–30 minutes.

6.

Serve with rice.

Can the chicken and sauce be reheated for Shabbat Dinner or does it have to be eaten immediately?

As with anything that was once crispy and then sauced, it’s ideally eaten immediately, but it will be fine rewarmed.

delicious!!!!!!! i changed the sauce and i added more soy sauce , ginger cuz my family doesnt like so sweet. then i made the chicken and then put it all in the oven for 20 min. on 350. it was so good. i hardly have a recipe that is easy and good the first time. that i know my family likes. thank you!!!!

im probably gonna put less ketchup and more soy sauce next time. to balance the sweetness.

Finally something that everyone will eat! Double the sauce! I find it hard to find recipes that are pleasing to little kids, big kids and adults! This recipe is being added to my collection because everyone ate it! Yay!
Just one change I would make: DOUBLE THE SAUCE!!
