Ingredients

Sesame Meat Roll-Ups

  • 1–1 and 1/2 pound (450–680 grams) ground beef

  • 1/4 cup diced scallions (green part only)

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Gefen Sesame Oil

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 3 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic

  • 1 cube Gefen Frozen Ginger

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 and 1/2 6-ounce (170-gram) packages pastrami

  • spicy mayo, for serving

Sesame Sauce

  • 1/4 cup ketchup

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 tablespoon Gefen Sesame Oil

Directions

Prepare the Sesame Meat Roll-Ups

1.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

Place ground beef in a bowl. Add scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly combined. Scoop up the beef, two tablespoons at a time, and form mini kebabs.

Cut each slice of pastrami in half lengthwise. Wrap a piece of pastrami around each kebab. Bake for 10 minutes.

Prepare the Sesame Sauce and Bake

Place all ingredients in a pot. Bring the mixture to a boil. Allow sauce to simmer for five to 10 minutes, until it reduces and thickens.

Pour sesame sauce over each pastrami roll-up.

3.

Raise the oven temperature to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius) and bake for another five minutes.

4.

Serve with spicy mayo on the side and enjoy!
