Sesame Pretzels and Dip Sauce

This recipe is very moreish and I would advise to make more than one batch at a go as they disappear EXTREMELY fast by me! –Enjoy!

Ingredients

Pretzels

  • 260 grams plain flour

  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar

  • 1/2 tablespoon salt

  • 1/3 cup oil

  • 1/2 cup boiling water

  • 1/2 egg, to glaze

  • sesame

Dipping Sauce

  • 2 and 1/2 tablespoons tomato puree

  • 1 and 1/2 heaping tablespoon mayonnaise

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano/pizza spice

  • 1 small clove garlic, diced

  • pinch black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 1/4 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • pinch of chilli pepper (optional)

Directions

Prepare the Sesame Pretzels

1.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and boil the kettle.

2.

Put the flour, sugar, salt, oil and boiling water in a bowl.

3.

Knead into a dough.

4.

Divide the dough into two.

5.

Roll out dough thinly into a rectangle.

6.

Egg the dough and sprinkle sesame on.

7.

Cut into thin strips and twist.

8.

Put them onto a tray (they don’t have to be spaced far apart as they don’t rise a lot).

9.

Bake for 15-20 minutes.

Prepare the Dip Sauce

1.

Blend all ingredients with a hand blender.
