Diets Many recipes for dinner rolls call for butter and milk, but these rolls come out perfectly soft and fluffy with absolutely NO dairy. While they definitely can be served with butter, they’re also scrumptious fleishigs!
1 ounce yeast
2/3 cup very warm water
3 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 ounces margarine
1 egg
Dissolve yeast in water with one teaspoon sugar.
Allow yeast to activate.
Combine all ingredients and knead well. Dough should be soft but not sticky. Add more flour if necessary.
Let rise for 50 minutes.
Form into rolls.
Place in lined baking pans. Let rise another 20 minutes.
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10–15 minutes or until light brown.

Can I substitute the margarine for olive oil?
We haven’t tested it, but that sub should work! Let us know how it turns out.
