Sour Cream Cake

Prepare the Cake

Cream butter, sugar and eggs.

Mix sour cream and baking soda. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla sugar.

Alternate adding wet and dry ingredients to the butter mixture.

Layer half of the batter in 8- x 8-inch or 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle a layer of cinnamon or cinnamon sugar and nuts, then top with remaining batter. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon sugar (I sprinkled the top with plantation sugar, which gave it a top "crust").

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes or until done.
Note:
Can also be made as muffins: bake for approximately 20 minutes.
